Hiking Activities
Easy: Everyone can join; no specific training required; 4 to 6 hours of hiking most days on easy terrain; hikers carry a light day pack; luggage assistance provided by minivan. This is a first approach to snowshoeing.
Moderate: for outdoor novices and fit travellers; 6 to 8 hours of hiking most days; non-strenuous hiking on rolling or mountainous terrain; hikers carry a light day pack; luggage assistance provided by minivan.
Strenuous: designed for experienced and very fit travellers. 7 to 8 hours of hiking most days on mountainous uneven trails and exposed terrain; high altitude trekking; some trips are assistance-free and require back-pack self-sufficiency.
Off-piste and freeriding
Level 1 difficulty: for good intermediate skiers and snowboarders (can comfortably link turns down black runs). Level required to sign up for Vallée Blanche.
Level 2 difficulty: for strong intermediate skiers and snowboarders who already have some off-piste skiing and riding experience, in search of skills improvement and more challenging itineraries. Level required to sign up for heliskiing.
Level 3 difficulty: For confirmed skiers and snowboarders, able to ski and ride all types of snow and terrain, willing to improve their mountain knowledge and riding technique on challenging mountainous terrain.
Ski-touring and mountaineering
Level 1 difficulty : for good intermediate skiers and snowboarders, able to ski down black runs comfortably, and willing to experience ski-touring activity on easy terrain.
Level 2 difficulty: for fit people who ski and ride regularly, with some moderate off-piste experience, in search of improving their “all-terrain” riding skills, and who are tempted to test themselves in more challenging terrain and/or multi-day ski touring trips.
Level 3 difficulty: designed for experienced and very fit all terrain skiers, who can manage all types of snow in all types of terrain. If you are used to multi-day ski touring trips and ski-mountaineering itineraries, this is the activity level for you!
